WhiteUpgrade Project

Smart and Autonomous Monitoring Infrastructure for 3D Printing Processes

The Smart Autonomous Print Monitoring and Management System is an autonomous control system developed to detect errors in long-duration 3D printing processes as early as possible while minimizing human intervention.

3D printing jobs can last for hours or even days. Printing errors are often noticed too late, leading to both material waste and lost time. WhiteUpgrade addresses this problem through a control approach based on live monitoring, image analysis, and remote intervention.

  • Accelerates error detection in long-duration 3D printing processes
  • Aims to reduce material waste and time loss
  • Provides remote stopping and intervention mechanisms
  • Enables centralized monitoring through an IoT-based management panel
Error detection in 3D printing processes

Minimizing Errors and Loss in the 3D Printing Process

The main goal of the project is to detect potential failures in long-duration 3D prints as early as possible and reduce dependence on the operator. In this way, the printing process can be managed in a more controlled, efficient, and predictable manner.

Live Print Monitoring

Provides the operator with real-time visibility throughout the entire printing process.

Early Error Awareness

Aims to reduce material and time losses caused by the late detection of print failures.

Technical architecture of the Smart Autonomous Print Monitoring system

Live Monitoring, Image Analysis, and Remote Intervention

The system consists of camera-assisted live monitoring, image-analysis-based error detection infrastructure, remote stopping and intervention mechanisms, IoT-based web panel integration, and real-time status notification layers. This structure helps make printing processes more autonomous.

Camera-Assisted Monitoring

Enables continuous observation of the printing area, making visual tracking of print issues possible.

IoT-Based Panel

Allows remote monitoring, control, and status notifications through a centralized management panel.

Future development roadmap for the 3D printing system

A Roadmap Open to AI and Multi-Printer Management

The project roadmap includes AI-based layer analysis, print anomaly detection, multi-printer management, and a SaaS-based remote production panel. This approach aims to transform the system from a monitoring solution into a centralized production management platform.

Layer Analysis

Plans to use AI-supported analysis to detect defects in print layers with greater precision.

Multi-Printer Management

Targets a structure that supports managing multiple production devices from a single panel.

Vision of the autonomous production support platform

A Low-Cost Autonomous Production Support Platform

The long-term goal of this system is to create a low-cost, accessible, and intelligent autonomous production support platform for small and medium-sized production workshops. In this way, it aims to provide sustainable efficiency in 3D printing processes along with remotely manageable production infrastructure.

Smart Production Approach

The system is being developed to strengthen autonomous decision-support mechanisms in production processes.

SaaS-Based Future

Offers cloud-based expansion potential for remote production tracking and centralized panel management.
